Trip down memory lane
I was preparing a styling portfolio for a potential client earlier today and ended up going down this rabbit hole of e-com styling from the time I worked at @zalando Some of these pictures are now more than 10 years old 😱 but I genuinely still like them. There are still colour combinations I enjoy or ways to introduce contrast and tension in an outfit. Sometimes it's about ptterns clashing, sometimes it's how you emphasize a look by going monochrome. The work was insane: churning out 40 looks a day, styling on the fly, with no time to plan or prepare. But it also taught me how to think fast, problem solve quickly and deliver quality styling in any circumstance. Name any category, and I did it 😅 Sports, accessories, shoes, Premium, Young Fashion, Plus Size, Maternity wear, Petite Fashion, women's, men's, the list goes on. I can no longer remember who the teams behind these photos were. But if you think you were there for the day say hi👋
Wearing a dress today at the request of my daughter. She wanted me to wear so that I "could match her". When she saw me wearing it she ran to me and hugged me 🥺 It is interesting to observe how even from a young age we use clothing to signify and assert belonging. We often think we "don't have time to dress up in the morning" but I would argue that the effort of putting on a dress is the same than putting on a T-shirt and jeans. So, why not please your daughter and wear a dress to match hers? Outfits-suggested-by-your-daughter could also be a new category for me, useful when I'm uninspired about what to wear in the morning

Queens for a night! 👸👸👸What an absolute blast it was to take part in this workshop and perform on stage with such talented, fun people! We served musical theatre, faces (mostly me) and costumes changes on stage! Thank you so much to our Queen Mothers Marietta, Paula, Marcela and Lucia for letting us write this crazy play and teaching us so much.
