Continuing from yesterday’s post- if you ever thought it was weird a leather company was called #eastwestmusicalinstrumentscompany they actually did make an instrument! Pictured is #NormanStubbs creation of an electric bowl harp named the “Handannah” - the one pictured was owned by #FrankZappa and was sold at auction. #eastwestmusicalinstruments #eastwestleatherjacket also attached in the last 2 pics are the 5 year anniversary card with the east west story directly from Norman.
Great photo of #eastwestmusicalinstruments #eastwestmusicalinstrumentsco trade booth at the Los Angeles clothing show in 1974- #TonySugden in the foreground with the concho belt. Can see chuck holding maybe a tiger jacket? and a few Parrots hanging on the wall. #eastwestleather #eastwestleatherjacket
Junkin’ on a Saturday morning- cool sale at the estate of artist #earlthollander his studio was pretty interesting. Glad to have scored a #lucianfreud catalogue raisson for cheap
Here’s an obscure one. Short lived San Francisco boutique run by Bruce Smith. My understanding is that after branching out on his own (Bruce had worked for Bobby Boles at the boothook while in college) Howard Z Fuchs of New York bankrolled a boutique. A few short years after launch Fuchs was indicted on several counts of Drug Trafficking and laundering money. The shop quickly morphed solely into the successful boot making business “Rainbow Cobblers” and Bruce did quite a bit of freelance design work for Jizz inc. East West & others. I’ve been told the jizz tits tee Charlie Watts wears was purchased at Water Bros.
