Hi! Danni P here- the Head behind the Metal ! I’m a tattoo artist from Kansas City, MO. My interest in metal casting came a few years into tattooing- i wanted to make custom contact screws (tattoo machine parts) like the ones i’d seen in old biker mags and tattoo supply catalogues from the 80s and 90s. I’m mostly self-taught in metal casting. my knowledge has come from books, youtube, internet forums, knowledge passed down from masters of the craft— and many many days and nights of obsessive trial and error! over the years i’ve dialed in my setup and upgraded my equipment from the homemade tools i started with- but i still do every part of the casting process by hand- from carving the design patterns in wax to finishing and polishing the cast pieces - i enjoy the process all the way through! I’ve recently begun creating wearable pieces in addition to the tattoo machine parts - i’m excited to share the new stuff i’ve been working on in the coming months!
