(we're back btw, but get ready for the latergram flood.) okay but for real though our Colloseum visit was humbling. not to brush aside the violence and its history, but it was also a focal point for the city of Rome and for the ancient world for hundreds of years. it was just wild to realize this place could seat 60k back in its heyday. and on a self-centered note, as we were touring the venue [world wonder, i mean], i kept thinking about what it would feel like to perform for a crowd that huge back when the year was still in the double-digits AD. it would be overwhelming even like now, but back then when arenas didn't exist in major cities as a normal thing, this would've been like performing for the world as you knew it. the stress alone might've killed me, which, given the venue, i mean. (also shout-out to Fabio from @liv.tours for all his extensive historical and architectural knowledge, and for fielding all our random-ass questions about brick ages and venue capacity, AND for knowing the answers.) #honeymoon #nondjlife #latergram

sidenote (or preface?): this was... yes the Colloseum, i'll get to that... but this was the longest i've gone without wearing a baseball hat in like decades. fun fact: baseball caps are not a thing in Italy. because, obvious reasons if you think about it. so these past two weeks have been the longest period of time my hair has been out in public. also, in the background, the largest ancient amphitheatre ever built. #honeymoon #nondjlife

howdy from across an ocean. so i took some rare time off from dj life for a slightly belated honeymoon. shhh don't tell anyone but we've been in Italy for a bit over a week or so now. this was stage one of our journey, the flight where my wife is radiating smiles and excitement. i was equally excited, though sleep-deprived. i was gonna wait until we got back from Italy to post a bunch of pics. but i tend to forget about social media whenever my schedule gets busy. i'm generally not the type to livestream my life, or really even keep active on my own socials media. but it bears mentioning that this past weekend i took some time off from my dj residencies for a one-night-only special event: my own wedding. i've sometimes referred to her in past ig posts as my bae, my lady, or my love. but now @con_ganas_erika can add another title to her repertoire of aliases, my wife. last week was a whirlwind, as the two of us watched the combined vision we had of this celebration get delegated and carried out with the help of dozens of family, friends, and vendors, after months upon months of planning and preparation (done in overwhelmingly large part by my wife who deserves a platinum medal for being her own wedding planner, with a tight budget and meticulous spreadsheets). naturally, everything went *exactly* as planned. and if you believe that, you've probably never been part of a wedding. but perfection was not the goal, we just wanted a fun and festive time for as many family and friends as we could fit into the capacity of our venue and our means. as the evening unfolded, the joyful smiles were abundant, and the dancefloor was fueled by positive chain reactions of emotion and never ran out of gas. thanks to everyone who posted stories over the weekend (because i kinda only post stories when there's an "add to stories" button.) i may bombard y'all with more wedding pics as they come in. #nondjlife #wedding #nuptials
