Most people using SSL Fusion don’t even realise this is in there… Hidden in plain sight is one of the cleanest, most musical listen-back compressor you can use to instantly tighten your mix without killing the punch. It’s subtle, but once you hear it, you can’t unhear it. Try this next time you’re checking your mix or applying it to a bus… it might change everything. #mixingtips #musicproduction #homestudio #audiomixing #producerlife

Most tracks I get sent aren’t bad. They’re just not finished. That last 10% is what the listener really cares about most of the time. The sprinkling and magic touch šŸŖ„ What’s the thing you always struggle to get right in your mix? #mixingengineer #musicproducerlife #homestudiolife #independentartist #musicproductiontips

Real sessions. Real feedback. āļø ā€œThe Vintage 67s are killer. They sit perfectly alongside the other mics in my studio - clear and crisp, but with a ton of character that sets them apart from the usual industry-leading condensers. They’re my first choice for high-quality overheads that don’t feel sterile and need some natural character, rather than being too plain, clean and boring. They pair well with a couple of dynamics when tracking guitar cabs, amazing! For the price, they’re ridiculous value and totally live up to the vision behind their original design.ā€ Producer, Mixer, Engineer: @sihopkinson

5 Plugins I Use for Warm, Pro Masters šŸ”„ Getting a warm, authentic master isn’t about stacking loads of plugins, it’s about using a few tools properly and making the right decisions. These are 5 I keep coming back to when I want something to feel full, musical and not overcooked šŸ‘‡ 1. Oxford Inflator Adds density and perceived loudness without killing dynamics. I’ll often push the effect quite hard, then dial the input gain to sit right. One of those plugins that almost always improves things. 2. Ampex ATR-102 Subtle analogue warmth and glue. I usually start with ā€œClassic 250 Warm Masterā€, keep it open, turn off hiss, then blend it in gently. Small moves go a long way here. 3. Analog Obsession BXQ (FREE) Go-to for shaping the overall tone. Great for broad EQ moves and really powerful mid/side control. Easy to overlook, but seriously solid. 4. FabFilter Pro-L 2 Main limiter doing the heavy lifting. Super clean and flexible. I’m usually aiming for around 2–4 dB of gain reduction using ā€œModernā€ or ā€œTransparentā€, then tweaking attack/release to suit the track. 5. Ozone Vintage Limiter Used alongside Pro-L 2 for extra character. I treat it as a second stage limiter to add vibe. Tube, analogue or modern depending on the track, usually around 3–4 dB of gain reduction with a 0.2 dB ceiling. Less is more. Subtle moves, good taste, and knowing when to stop. If you want more breakdowns like this, drop a comment šŸ‘‡šŸ» #MusicProduction #AudioEngineering #MixingAndMastering #HomeStudio #MusicProducers

This worked really well for me recently! I always undervalue overheads in a mix, when they sit right, pop in the right places they can really bring a mix to life! #musicproducer #mixingandmastering #homestudio #mixingengineer #wavesaudio
