Grand Palais: In his own words, Henri Matisse experienced a new life after becoming ill, which allowed him to explore a new artistic direction. In the bright light of his final years, Matisse invented a new language: that of cut-out forms and pure color. The exhibition Matisse. 1941-1954 sheds light on these pivotal years of his career, from 1941 to 1954, showcasing more than 300 works, including paintings, drawings, cut-out gouaches, illustrated books, textiles, and stained glass.

Last weekend in Åndalsnes was amazing! We enjoyed randonee skiing up Skarven and Blånebba, guided by the knowledgeable Odd Erik and Jonas, who respected the mountains while providing a memorable experience. Our stay at Hotel Aak was delightful, with very welcoming and helpful staff alongside fantastic food. It was a perfect mix of adventure and comfort! #hotelaak
In celebration of International Women’s Day, we can reflect on what Belle da Costa Greene, born on December 26, 1883, and died on May 10, 1950, achieved despite the significant challenges she faced as a biracial woman. She broke gender role conventions in a male-dominated world and became the first female director of the Pierpont Morgan Library. Her commitment to building a unique collection of rare books and manuscripts highlighted the way she changed the role of libraries in society #kvinnedagen #internationalwomensday
Peeping Tom // S 62° 58’, W 60° 39’ #bærumkulturhus
The performance by Peeping Tom explored vulnerability in a powerful way. The performers revealed fragments of their inner lives while navigating the director’s relentless demand for deeper expression.
The piece resonated with the tensions of our time: power, environmental collapse and geopolitical crisis.
As fiction and reality blurred, the performers seemed to ask: how do we break cycles of violence? Is a revolutionary moment possible, one that signals both an ending and a beginning?
Near the end, a solo exposed an artist’s inner struggle between creative desire, the longing to be loved, and the pressure of self-censorship.
Just as the moment reached its peak, the fire alarm suddenly interrupted the performance and the audience had to evacuate.
Strangely, this abrupt interruption became the perfect conclusion, a reminder that art often exists as a fleeting moment of shared meaning, as the cast finally received their applause outside the theatre entrance.
