I painted a mural in our new kitchen ☺️ Charlie built a wall with invisible doors which made for a perfect canvas for a mural. ‘Take it easy’ is the motto for our new home, and it seems for living in rural Ireland also, it certainly is a different pace of life compared to Dublin. I’m in Leitrim four years now and it finally it feels like home. Here’s me standing in front of the finished mural for Breifne College in Cavan. The quote is by John Boyle O’Reilly and a very appropriate message for young teens today. We incorporated some Irish flowers into the mural, foxgloves, buttercup, thistle and daisies. The mural is a reflection of the beautiful Cavan landscape. This mural was sketched up on the wall with the help from my amazing husband. His wizardry in carpentry meant he could easily rustle up some wooden templates for the curves and angles of the italic lettering to ensure all the lettering was lovely and consistent. So grateful for his help ❤️ Big thanks to the art teacher Edel for all her help and for inviting me to paint at the school. It was a great experience. I started Eirlume Studio with my husband Charlie in late 2024. Charlie suggested we combine our skills and start making some work together and I’m so glad we did. It was at a point in my career where I really wanted to explore something new so it was perfect timing. I still love lettering and painting but working with stained glass has opened up a whole new craft for me and it’s been really exciting. We really want to create stained glass with a contemporary twist and bring gorgeous coloured light into people’s homes and businesses. @eirlumemosaicsglass

Well done to all the attendees of my intro to block lettering workshop, which was part of @luvinletters_indesign lettering conference held in Griffith college, Dublin. They all did excellent work! We ran through the basics of drawing a few letters, how to use the set square for lettering. Then they moved on to drawing a four letter word of their choice, lastly showing them how to add block shading and the cast shadow to their letters also. And I shared some signwriting tips throughout the day. I love teaching at the moment. It’s so nice to pass on what I’ve learnt over the years working as a lettering artist and Signpainter. Keeping the craft alive is a very important part of the sign writing community so it’s a pleasure to pass on what’s been shared with me. #signwriting #signpainting #signwritingworkshop #lettering #letteringartist

My stained glass LED backlit panel for @minawcollective ´Street to Studio’ group show on until Sunday in @flux_dublin . The @minawcollective is a street art collective of Ireland based artists and it’s been an honour to be a member for the past few years. A recent mosaic installation for @de_frein . This 3 metre kitchen windowsill mosaic was made in the studio then installed onsite with Charlie’s expert help. She wanted lots of colour and the Irish word ‘Ceiliúrlann’ which means celebration.
