Don't miss the world’s first Deaf thriller directed by @tedevansfilm at the Sign on Screen Festival.
Set within an isolated Deaf community, Retreat follows Matt (James Joseph Boyle) as his sense of belonging is shaken by the arrival of Eva (Anne Zander), forcing him to question identity, control, and the cost of a “perfect” society.

Last weekend, Sign on Screen paired up with the Canberra Sign and Play group to celebrate Auslan Day. We did a screening of Auslan stories and signed songs, then an art workshop, with deaf and hard of hearing kids from 1-11 years of age and their families and friends. The upcoming festival is mostly for grown-ups, but sign and film are for all! You can read more, and see some budding filmmakers' artworks, on our website.
Filmmaker Julian Walsh will deliver a short presentation in Auslan (interpreted in English) at the Sign on Screen Festival in Canberra! His presentation will be followed by rare and significant clips from his unique four-decade collection documenting Deaf events, festivals, news and sport.
