Sigma Creator @huwalban took the Sigma 14–24mm F2.8 DG DN | Art somewhere it doesn’t “usually belong” — deep into a woodland carpeted with wild garlic.
Instead of fighting the lens, Huw leaned into the challenge:
• Working at different focal lengths throughout the zoom
• Using in-camera aspect ratios to simplify and shape the scene
• Finding natural frames within the chaos of the forest
Wide-angle lenses and busy woodland environments aren’t the obvious pairing — but that’s exactly what made this shoot so rewarding. By carefully controlling composition in-camera, Huw was able to carve out clean, compelling images from a complex landscape.
A great reminder that limitations (and a bit of experimentation) can lead to some of the most creative results.

All the curves! A glorious night spent under the stars at Lulworth Cove for my final chance this year to capture the Milky Way arch from the UK.
Using the Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG DN Art lens that I’ve kindly been lent by @sigmauk , I captured 7 sky panels, each made up of 20 images, then stacked and stitched them with a 7 panel foreground to create this spectacular panoramic view.
I was just finishing up as the crescent Moon popped its head above the horizon, so in this image we have three types of light: reflected sunlight, artificial light from the boats, and ancient starlight — all melding together to create this unique view 💫
