You chose love, courage, and honor. You chose nursing. And the world is better for it. You may not always see the impact you make, but trust us, it's there.
As Nurses Week comes to a close, the impact of nursing continues. Today, on International Nurses Day, we honor the knowledge, skill, and heart that advance the profession and the people who carry it forward each day. Join us in celebrating a nurse who made a difference in your life. #InternationalNursesDay
This Nurses Week, we're setting the record straight. âś…
Nursing is often misunderstood. The reality is a profession grounded in knowledge, autonomy, and complex decision-making. Swipe through to explore a few common myths and the truth behind them. #NursesWeek2026
Tyler Gaedecke received a 2024 Sigma Small Research Grant funded by the Sigma Foundation for Nursing. He’s in the early stages of his journey as a nurse researcher, and the impact turned out to be far greater than the funding alone.
This grant helped him see himself as someone who could get funding, make a name for himself in the nursing profession, and push nursing forward. Donor support did more than fund his research.
“It set off more than a project for me—it set off a career.”
This International Nurses Day, you can be part of the next story like Tyler’s. Your donation to the Foundation directly funds nurse researchers, educators, and leaders shaping the future of healthcare.

Skill drives expertise. Compassion builds trust. Together, they shape high-quality care, influence outcomes, and move healthcare forward.
And at the center of it all are nurses. #NursesWeek2026
The numbers speak for themselves. The time, training, the commitment—it’s no small feat. And that’s all before the first shift even begins. We celebrate not just what it takes, but the skill and heart behind every decision, every action, and every moment of care. #NursesWeek2026
Beyond compassion, there’s skill. Beyond expertise, there’s heart. Nursing is where both come together—every single day. This Nurses Week, we’re celebrating the power behind the care you give and the impact you make, in every role, every shift, and every expectation. Happy Nurses Week! 💜
The Chi at-Large Chapter is turning local action into global impact.
Guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—a global call to improve health, reduce inequality, and create a more sustainable future—the chapter focused its efforts on SDG #2: Zero Hunger.
Recognizing the connection between food insecurity and chronic health conditions, members partnered with a local organization, Open Arms of Minnesota—a nonprofit organization that prepares and delivers medically tailored meals at no cost to critically ill Minnesotans and their loved ones.
In just two hours, Chi at-Large volunteers packaged 1,443 meals.
But the moment that stayed with them wasn’t just the number. It was the visual. When they saw the cart full of meals and watched staff roll out another cart for them to fill, that’s when it clicked. This wasn’t just service. It was real impact.
“Seeing our chapter come together to connect while supporting a real need in our community was incredibly rewarding,” said Suzanne Burke, Chi at-Large President-Elect. “It was amazing to see how much we could accomplish in such a short amount of time.”
For chapters looking to spark similar momentum, Suzanne recommends starting with board support to help drive outreach and participation. And if turnout is smaller than expected, keep going.
Share the story. Celebrate the impact. Sometimes, all it takes is a little visibility to inspire the next volunteer to step forward.
Because when nurses come together, the impact can reach far beyond what they ever imagined.
