Meet Dr Soung Meng Sreang - one of the doctors who will carry Sight For All's work forward long after our teams have gone home. For the past two years, Dr Sreang has been completing a Sight For All Oculoplastic Fellowship at Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, building expertise in complex eye surgery that his patients, and his country, will benefit from for decades. He's also a lecturer. An aviation medical examiner. A public servant across multiple roles. This is what we mean by Multiply Impact. We don't just treat...we teach. We build capability that keeps working long after we leave. That's not just a statistic. That's millions of people who didn't have to lose their sight. 89% of blindness and visual impairment is preventable or treatable, but only with the right care, at the right time. Access to eye health changes everything. We're working to make that a reality for everyone. Learn how you can help on our website. #sightforall #teachingtheworldtosee #globaleyehealth #eyehealth

At 65, Mrs Try Po had spent her life being independent. But as her sight slowly faded, even the simplest things - moving around, recognising the faces of people she loved - became impossible. In July 2025, she came to Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital seeking help. After surgery to treat her diabetic retinopathy, her vision gradually returned. By March this year, she was signing her own name again for the first time in years. She smiled as she did it. "I am so happy. I can see, move, eat, bathe. I can do things by myself." This is what your support makes possible. Not just sight improved, but a life returned. Stories like Mrs Try Po's are made possible by people like you. Meet our Fellow: Dr Amarsanaa Delgerjav 🌟 In Mongolia, access to specialist eye care is hard-won. Dr Amarsanaa Delgerjav, known to colleagues as Sanaa, is determined to change that. Sanaa is an ophthalmologist at Ulaanbaatar's Mongolia-Japan Hospital, having completed both his medical degree and ophthalmology specialisation at the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences. As a Sight For All Glaucoma Fellow, Sanaa's training has taken him far beyond Mongolia's borders. In 2024, he travelled to Sydney for a Glaucoma Observership and attended the RANZCO Congress in Adelaide - experiences made possible through the Australian Awards Fellowship Program. But what drives Sanaa isn't just the travel or the credentials. It's a genuine hunger to grow, deepening his research knowledge and sharpening his surgical skills, so he can bring world-class glaucoma care back to the patients who need it most. #sightforall #teachingtheworldtosee #mongolia #opthalmology #eyehealth #education #fellowship

Meet our Fellow: Dr Sun Bunthoen 🌟 Eighty kilometres from Phnom Penh, in Cambodia's Takeo Province, patients with serious eye conditions have a dedicated specialist in their corner - Dr Sun Bunthoen. A general ophthalmologist and medical retina consultant at Takeo Eye Hospital, Dr Sun has spent nearly two decades building his expertise - from his general medicine degree through to specialised training in cataract surgery and a Doctor of Ophthalmology from Ho Chi Minh City's University of Medicine and Pharmacy. Now, he's taking that commitment even further. Dr Sun is currently undertaking the Sight For All Retina Fellowship at Khmer Soviet Friendship Hospital - regularly making the journey from Takeo to participate in Visionary and In-Country Visionary teaching weeks. That dedication matters. Because when a doctor grows, so does the community they serve. #sightforall #teachingtheworldtosee #cambodia #opthalmology #education #eyehealth #globalhealth #fellowship

What does it mean to share specialist skills across borders? Dr Justin Friebel, one of Sight For All’s Visionaries, reflects on his time in Phnom Penh, where he worked alongside doctors at Khmer Soviet Friendship Hospital as part of the Cambodia and Laos Oculoplastic Fellowship Project, supported by the Australian Government through the Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP). Through tutorials and hands-on teaching, Dr Friebel shared his skills with local surgeons, explaining that the goal is “helping local doctors get skills that they will then use to treat their local community.” Programs like this are an important part of Sight For All’s mission to eliminate avoidable blindness.
