Miracle March has turned out to be remarkably dry this year. The snowās been melting fast and many of us have broken out our bikes already. Here are some summer things to do before or after our storm next week⦠but rest assured that by writing a letter and engaging with us, you have already done part of your yearly work in prepping for fire and keeping #tahoetruckeetrue!
#TahoeTruckeeTrue IS Sierra Watch. Itās not just Olympic Valley - itās a legacy of challenging irresponsible development that threaten our mountain communities and landscapes⦠and weāve been working on that since 2001.
The revised Village at Palisades Tahoe Plan: Join the Dec. 1 meeting!ā
ā
Placer County is hosting a virtual informational meeting on Dec. 1 at 6 pm to share updates on the revised Village at Palisades Tahoe Specific Plan. ā
ā
The changes reflect terms of the settlement reached by @keeptahoeblue and @sierrawatch this summer, including:ā
ā
- Significantly reduce the project's sizeā
- Remove plans for an indoor waterparkā
- Permanently protect open space at the mouth of Shirley Canyonā
ā
These changes will prevent more traffic, air pollution, and water pollution that would have threatened the Lakeās water quality and clarity.ā
ā
Our team will make sure the revised plan aligns with these development limits.ā

One week ago today, we announced that weād finally come to an agreement with Palisades Tahoe.
It is a 40% reduction in rooms, a 20% reduction in commercial space, and permanent protection of Shirley Canyon as open space. We are extremely proud of that agreement, and it adds to our over 2 decades of success in conservation. Thank you for being with us for this, and ONWARD. There is still a lot to do. #tahoetruckeetrue
