Imagine your first voiceover job ever was the title role in a new network cartoon that would run five seasons, one in which you got to play not only the hero but a couple of the villains as well. That was my experience on JACKIE CHAN ADVENTURES, back in 2000 on the Kids WB. What great luck, what a great way to launch a career you never thought you’d have a chance at. I loved every minute working on that show (well, every minute I wasn’t thinking I’d be fired) and learning from such generous, talented pros like @showrunnerduanecapizzi , Sue Blu, and an extraordinary cast of regulars and guest stars. It was truly like winning the lottery. And now, almost 25 years later, all five seasons of JCA has been brought back to vivid life with this amazing new artwork by @matsumoto_art . I can’t adequately tell you how awed I am by this poster. MK remembers more about the show than I do, and it’s such a joy to discover characters and situations I’d totally forgotten. He puts such care and artistry into every image. The J-Team lives again! At a wedding of a dear young man I've known all his life and his equally awesome wife. Doug said as the guncles, we had to "show up." Since then, he has worked steadily in television, movies, and video games. Recent projects include: Stillwater (title role); Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny (Bunnidharma & Sun Wukong); How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World (Chaghatai Khan); Final Fantasy VII Remake (Professor Hojo); and Ghost of Tsushima. He’s played kung fu heroes in Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness (Monkey) and Quest of the Dragon (Bruce Lee), two superheroes in the DC universe (Wind Dragon and The Atom), Eddie Raja in Uncharted, multiple roles on King of the Hill, and gained eternal fame as the Cabbage Merchant in Avatar: The Last Airbender. 🥬✨ James is also the author of two novels: All Kinds of Other (HarperCollins) and Still Life Las Vegas (St. Martin’s Press), for which he recorded the audiobook. To have to consider evacuating from your home because the state you live in has decided that you are a non-person, unworthy of the basic needs any human should receive from their government, having a bounty put on your head for using a public restroom--this is beyond cruel. Not a bathroom bill - a purge. The state voided trans Kansans' driver's licenses and birth certificates without warning, then authorized $1,000 bounties for private citizens to sue trans people caught using a public restroom. ㅤ Think about what that means. Without a valid ID you can't drive to work, board a plane, cash a check, or vote. Thousands of American citizens just became undocumented in their own country. ㅤ So we launched Operation Lifeboat - a full emergency evacuation and support operation for trans Kansans who need to get out or need help surviving in place, supported by a professional team with decades of refugee & disaster response experience. ㅤ In just the first day, we opened 20 cases from folks who need support to evacuate or survive in place. But we expect at least 2,000 people will need to leave. ㅤ We've mobilized 53 volunteers in Kansas and our support team is ready to help. ㅤ If you're trans and in Kansas, you can request assistance at translifeboat.org. ㅤ That's also the spot to go if you're interested in volunteering-- from Kansas or anywhere in the country. ㅤ We refuse to let anyone face this alone.
