A 22-year-old walked into a pharmacy to refill the inhaler he needed to breathe.
The price had jumped from under $70 to over $500.
He left without it.
Five days later, he was gone.
This is not politics.
This is not “industry drama.”
This is not rare.
This is what happens when healthcare becomes so complicated, so opaque, and so profit-driven that actual human lives get lost somewhere between contracts, approvals, rebates, and red tape.
For the last year, I’ve used my voice to ask uncomfortable questions about the system I spent decades inside.
Not because I hate healthcare.
Because I believe patients deserve better from it.
