Some favorites, in no particular order from 2025.
What a year. Took a big step back this year and kind of took another look at why I do this shit in the first place. Found out real quick that as much as I love doing this, I don’t necessarily want to see it as a something I should feel like I need to do.
I love doing this because I love doing this, I love the friends I’ve made through it, regardless of how they see me, I love the moments that are shared with complete strangers, I love giving people something to remember, and I love live music.
At times it’s a very thankless position and it is easy to lose sight of the fact that most people will fuck with me solely because I can offer them a service and it’s as simple as that. There’s not very many “hey man, how ya been?”s in my position and that aspect can honestly suck sometimes given how much of my time is spent with people. But hey, not everyone’s gonna like you. Admittedly those moments can make it hard and make you reflect a little bit.
I love shooting shows and I love making new connections. I love shooting what I want to shoot and sometimes I just need to focus on that more. I appreciate you all that can and have respected that. I show up because I want to and once in a while because an artist wants me to. I want to put out quality shit. I want to leave something behind.
That’s tough to see from an outside perspective looking into a saturated field of people that do this for various reasons, some that don’t take it seriously and just kinda half ass it, some that genuinely just don’t get it, some that do it for straight up clout trying to be the first to post the headliner or trying to get to places where the average show goer can’t just to feel special, all that shit is so obvious to see. There’s a lot of people in this shit for the wrong reasons.
I’m happy to be surrounded by the genuine people that support each other for just showing up and being consistent. Most importantly just being good people. I would like more of that in 2026. Just be real with yourselves and each other.
Milwaukee Hardcore.
INTRODUCTION POST:
Hello There!
My name is Chance, I started my photography journey roughly about two years ago now. I realized photography was something I wanted to pursue in some type of way because at the time my friend was getting heavily into filming skating and he had a camera as well, so I was constantly asking to use it. Also at the time I was dating a photography major and same story there, I found myself constantly asking to use it. What I was producing with both cameras at the time was received very well by the both of them and it made me even more interested in it. So a lot of credit is due to the both of them for supporting me in that fashion.
After about a year of shooting just random scenes around the city of Madison and occasionally Milwaukee, I found myself losing inspiration far too often and ultimately getting somewhat bored with it. So I decided one weekend to go out to Milwaukee and try “shooting” a show. While the product wasn’t amazing to me at all, the feeling was.
In addition to a couple of years ago, I dove head first back into hardcore after abandoning that part of myself for awhile just because no one here was into it whatsoever. I started exploring what bands were hot at the time and caught that addiction all over again. Shortly after that I decided to see what Milwaukee had going on and to my surprise there was a scene just waiting to bloom. After going to a couple of shows, I thought to myself “how could I help this scene grow? What can I do on my end, if anything?” So I went out, studied, bought the appropriate gear and shot a show.
Since then I have taken a strong emphasis of my photography and put it into this scene that have so many talented artists and hardworking people with seemingly no one that really wanted to shine a light on it?
Little did I know what this scene was going to wind up meaning to me. Milwaukee Hardcore is something very special and you really only know once you take part. A room full of strangers screaming lyrics to a song they all know while safely taking care of each other in a shared space. Hard to beat that feeling. So if you see me at a show, come up and say Hello! I’d love to meet you! ❤️

This shit was nuts, never did I think I’d get to shoot a band that was basically part of the main blueprint for me at a place like the sylvee, huge full circle moment
