In 2014 I was asked to write about Black Messiah for Cuepoint. 14 years in the making, it came out of nowhere and shook popular culture like nothing else had in along time…raising the bar for other masterpieces like Lemonade and To Pimp A Butterfly to come shortly after.

I’ve put the link in the bio if you’d like to read and listen and relive it all too.
Godspeed Master D’
Usually I’m all “fuck the post” - but this one they got right 🙌🏼.
Honored to have been a part of this. So proud of Mike for having the courage and strength to do it…and for putting up with my “let’s do it again’s” in our lead up sessions.
Big thanks to Chris, Will, Johnny, Guy and Phil - hands down the coolest and most humble bunch of guys in the industry.
And big thanks to Lauren, John and Steve - without whom this NEVER could have happened.
“For all their flaws, the United States still have all the right energy and all the right weapons to win games. In Matt Turner we have one of the best goalkeepers in the tournament. We have what could be the best defense, only conceding one goal, and none from the run of play. We’ve taken on two of our greatest historical adversaries and have not lost. We have a captain in Tyler Adams who has made us more proud to be American than I could’ve ever imagined. I don’t know what I’m more proud of, his press conference or his play.”
