Last Friday, our wonderful mums and carers came together for the City Country Mothers & Carers’ Lunch at Doltone House. It was a fantastic afternoon of connection and community, celebrating the important role our families play in the College's life.
A big thank you to Natarsha Belling, Sophie Bowrey, and Mark Tannock for their warm words of welcome, and to Year 12 mums Anne O’Neil and Penny Haire for sharing such heartfelt reflections on family, boarding and the Riverview experience.
Thank you also to the many families and businesses who generously donated prizes for the raffle, helping raise a significant amount for the Bursary Fund and supporting future generations of Riverview students.

This week, Year 8-11 Chinese students took part in a vibrant Chinese Cultural Incursion, immersing themselves in a range of traditional activities and experiences.
Throughout the day, students rotated through workshops including waist drum and pitch-pot activities, Kung Fu sessions, and dumpling preparation. The incursion provided students with a hands-on opportunity to engage with Chinese culture, traditions, and cuisine in a fun and interactive way.
A wonderful day of learning, energy and cultural appreciation for all involved.
As we celebrate National Boarding Week, we look back on the history of boarding at Saint Ignatius' College Riverview — a tradition that lies at the heart of the College. Riverview opened as a boarding school in 1880, with only a small number of day boys attending until their official admission in 1923. For 123 years, boarders lived and slept overlooking the main quadrangle, most notably in the Arrupe Building.
The top left photo on the first slide captures the end of an era in 2003, as the final group of Year 8 boarders moved out of the Arrupe and into the newly refurbished boarding quarters on the Regis Campus. It marked the end of boarding life centred around the quadrangle, while continuing the strong spirit of community and belonging that defines boarding at Riverview to this day.

We look forward to connecting with families and community members at the Dubbo Boarding Roadshow this weekend.
Our Director of Boarding, Mr Anthony Begg, Assistant to the Director of Boarding, Mrs Penny Kelly, and Head of Admissions, Mrs Bronwyn O’Brien, will be there across both days to share more about boarding life at Saint Ignatius’ College Riverview and answer any questions you may have.
Boarding at Riverview is built on community, care and belonging, and the Roadshow is a wonderful opportunity to meet the people behind the program and discover what makes the experience so special for our boys and their families.

Saint Ignatius' College Riverview proudly presents our Senior Co-curricular Production of Shakespeare in Love, opening tomorrow in the O'Kelly Theatre.
London, 1593. A young, struggling William Shakespeare is battling writer’s block and a new comedy called ‘Romeo... and Ethel the Pirate’s Daughter’ when fate—and a forbidden romance—inspire him to write once more. Disguises, duels and star-crossed lovers collide in this witty and heartfelt play-within-a-play.
Our incredibly talented cast and crew have poured their hearts into this production, and we can’t wait to share it with our community. Expect swordplay, soaring romance, riotous comedy and the kind of ensemble performance that reminds us why theatre continues to captivate audiences generation after generation.
Wednesday 13th, Friday 15th & Saturday 16th May
6pm | O'Kelly Theatre
Tickets available through the link in our bio.
Congratulations to Jack H on an outstanding performance at the Australian All Schools Tennis Championships, where he captained NSW to a silver medal finish. Competing on grass, the home WA side proved tough to beat, but Jack was exceptional throughout the tournament, remaining undefeated in singles and winning every tie he played in the team event.
To top off a remarkable week, Jack was also selected in the Australian team, an honour awarded at the conclusion of the championships!
This National Boarding Week, we celebrate the heart of the College — our boarding community.
Home to 307 current boarders from 205 different towns and cities, boarding continues to bring together boys from across Australia and beyond, creating a community built on friendship, belonging, and shared experiences. Our boarding houses are places where lifelong bonds are formed, and a genuine sense of family grows.
Throughout the week, our boarders will celebrate together with a café cart, guest speakers, an all-boarding BBQ and fire pit, along with our youngest boarders hosting a Teachers’ Dinner. It is a special time to celebrate the friendships, traditions and strong sense of home that shape our boarding community.
Wishing all mums, grandmothers and mother figures in our community a very Happy Mother’s Day. Thank you for all the support, care and encouragement you give to our boys each and every day. We hope you enjoy a relaxing and special day with your families. 💙🤍
On Tuesday morning, the Regis community came together to celebrate our amazing mums. A wonderful number of mothers gathered at Regis before walking to the Dalton Chapel, where a beautiful Mass was celebrated in their honour.
We were grateful to have Fr Joe Dooley lead us in prayer and share his own memories of his loving mother, while also reminding the boys of the importance of showing love and respect to their own mums. Our celebration was enriched by our readers and the Liturgy Ensemble, who led the music and singing throughout the Mass. The morning concluded with a delicious morning tea in the Cloisters, ensuring no mum left hungry.
We wish all of our mums a very special Mother’s Day on Sunday and hope our boys spoil you with kindness and love!

Staff gathered yesterday for a professional learning day centred on cura personalis — the Jesuit tradition of “care for the whole person”. Throughout the day, staff engaged in workshops and collaborative sessions exploring how we can continue to support the growth, wellbeing, and development of the young men in our care.
Sessions throughout the day explored important themes including identity, belonging, mental health, respectful relationships, behaviour management and creating positive learning environments. Staff heard from internationally recognised educator Mr Tom Bennett on building classroom consistency and school culture, and from renowned adolescent psychologist Dr Michael Carr-Gregg AO, who shared insights on supporting young people through the challenges of adolescence.
Parents also had the opportunity to attend a dedicated evening conversation with Dr Carr-Gregg on raising happy, resilient boys. Thank you to Catholic Schools NSW for supporting this important day of formation and professional learning.
