Devin Vanderhoof getting his âReddi Whipâ 2017 Mustang ready for Motion Raceworks Sick Summer, as Josh Davis wheels it to a 3.94 at 192 mph 1/8-mile pass in testing!
After selling his multi-time winning Fox Mustang convertible known as âBig Ernâ last year, Devin Vanderhoof debuted his new build - a 2017 Ford Mustang - at the 2026 edition of Gear Vendors Overdrive Sick Week!
The car showed promise and low 6-second performances, but a fire after a 6.27 at 227 mph run would sideline Vanderhoof and Davis. The car was pulled apart at Vanderhoofâs HCR Innovations, repairs made, and put back together in time for an appearance at Street Car Braggin Rights in April.
Devin and Josh are now focused on the upcoming Motion Raceworks Sick Summer, and testing at Carolina Dragway has shown some solid numbers for the Mustang to be a top runner at Sick Summer.
The best run was a solid 3.94 at 192.58 mph run, starting with a 1.044 60 foot time, all accomplished on a 29-inch tall x 10.5-inch wide Mickey Thompson Tires & Wheels Pro Bracket Radial.
âBeen fighting a wheelie issue anytime weâve tried to go fast to the 60 foot,â said Devin. âNeedless to say, I think itâs fixed now.â
Donât miss your chance to see Devin and Josh, along with 300+ competitors, tackle four different race tracks in five days, while driving hundreds of street miles between them! Sick Summer is June 14-19, 2026 starting at Byron Dragway!
