26.2 miles. One powerful purpose.🏅 Banky crossed the finish line for @sicklecelluk and VONA supported him every step of the way. Banky shares the mindset and motivation that kept him pushing forward through every step of the London Marathon. From the early mornings to the final mile, this journey has been all about resilience, discipline, and purpose. And because of the incredible support from our community, together we exceeded the original £1,500 fundraising goal by £500 👏 Wellness has always been bigger than self-care for us, it’s about community, impact, and showing up for something bigger than ourselves. To every single person who donated, shared, supported, encouraged, and cheered him on thank you. This is what community looks like. This is wellness with purpose. #VONA #wellnesswithpurpose #londonmarathon2026 #sicklecellawareness #runforacause

I said I’d fight again… but not without purpose 🥊 This time, I’m raising money and awareness for two causes close to my heart: 🇬🇲 Children in The Gambia — many schools are under-resourced and young girls lack access to basic menstrual care. My sister and I have started the work through our charity @orikafoundation , already collaborating with Mansa Colley Bangan School - but this is just the beginning. 80% of all funds raised will go directly towards essential school equipment and support. 🩸 The Sickle Cell Society - supporting individuals living with sickle cell and continuing the fight for better care, awareness, and recognition. 20% of funds will go towards this cause. Every round, every punch… it’s for something bigger. #charityboxing #womenbox #charitygambia #sickelcell #whitecollarboxing

Sickle cell is the most common inherited blood condition in the UK, mainly affecting Black communities, yet limited research has explored how housing and environmental factors impact Black ethnic minority adults living with sickle cell. This ethically approved doctoral study at De Montfort University explores how housing conditions affect quality of life and mental wellbeing. To take part, please scan the QR code. This survey is Phase 1 of a two-phase study. If you would like to take part in a Phase 2 interview, please register your interest after completing the survey. A £25 voucher will be provided as a thank you for interview participation. #SickleCell #SickleCellAwareness #HealthInequalities #HealthEquity #BlackHealth #ResearchStudy #MentalWellbeing #PatientVoice #UKResearch

We’re proud to share that the Emancipated Run Crew London Marathon team has raised an incredible £12,620 This is more than just a number — it represents commitment, community, and collective impact. A huge thank you to our dedicated fundraising team: - Yvette Taylor - John Collins - Denise Stephenson - Fumi Ndlovu - Morline Thompson - Victoria McLeod-Gayle - Jason Thompson - Mustafa Bojang - Brenda Smith Your efforts, energy, and purpose-driven running have made a real difference. We also want to extend our appreciation to everyone who donated and supported along the way — this achievement belongs to all of us. Funds raised will be split between ERC and Sickle Cell Society, with all Gift Aid going directly to Sickle Cell Society to maximise impact. The fundraising page is still open, so if you’d like to contribute, there’s still time. The link is in the bio. Running has the power to change lives and empower communities. And there we go, I’ve completed my first ever marathon 🙌🏾 26.2 miles was a complete rollercoaster! Starting the race in high spirits with the 3hr 50 pacer taking me past Tower Bridge around the half way mark, the cramps then kicked in 😬 Running @londonmarathon was an amazing experience and has completely humbled me! You might feel fit enough but if your legs aren’t properly conditioned for the long runs they will suffer 😅 Anyone to cross that finish line yesterday is an absolute beast 💪🏾 I finished in 4:28:50 and honoured to run for such an amazing charity which is @sicklecelluk Shoutout to my sponsor @ourdentityfashionuk and I’d also like to say a massive thank you to anyone that donated 🙏🏾 If you haven’t yet and would like to, my fundraising page is still open in my linktree in my bio, all contributions would be massively appreciated ❤️
