As the sun sets on my ‘Afrofuturistic Visions’ exhibition at the Frist Art Museum, my heart is full of gratitude and joy. A year ago, this was just a dream—a Nashville native yearning to see her art grace the walls of this iconic institution. Today, I stand in awe of the journey.
This exhibition has been more than just a display of art; it’s been a testament to perseverance, a celebration of Black excellence, and a bridge between imagination and reality. The support from my community, the conversations sparked, and the connections made have been beyond my wildest dreams.
To everyone who visited, shared, and engaged with my dreamscapes—thank you. You’ve been part of making a little girl’s dream come true and opening doors I never thought possible.
As we close this chapter, I’m excited for what the future holds. This isn’t an end, but a beautiful beginning. Nashville, you’ve shown me that with vision and hard work, anything is possible. Here’s to dreaming bigger and reaching higher. The future is ours to create!
