It's hard to believe that this album, The Mysterious Production of Eggs, has been part of the soundtrack of my life for 20 years — and significantly so. Hearing the always-transcendent @andrewbirdmusic play it live tonight, with the @seattlesymphony , was a cathartic and joyful experience that I was so happy to share with @mandsy2 ❤️ #therewillbesnacks

We are so grateful to our art director, Meg Sykes (@shytigers ) for creating an incredible array of featured artwork for Issue 18: Radical Futurity. 🚀❤️‍🔥💫 . “My favorite thing about making collage art for Seventh Wave magazine is seeing themes emerge as each piece begins to take shape,” she writes. “For this issue, there are colors — hot vermilion; cold, metallic blue — and an implied or visible sensation of motion that thread each piece together. Like the beautiful, intense pieces of writing they were born from, these images won’t sit still. 🫶🏽🌬️🤩 . “For Tatiana Chaterji’s ‘Protest Song in Six Verses’ and Alex Wong’s ‘an alas for winter,’ the overlay of images didn’t feel like enough on its own; the added blur was necessary to convey the texture and urgency of the words. For Isabella Higgins’ piece, ‘The Chicken for Dinner,’ the motion is paused; destruction looms in the next frame. Even the relative calm of S. Isabel Choi’s ‘Bwah-ju-yo’ and Julio Cesar Diaz’s ‘Letter to My Future Archeologist’ suggest the relentless passing of time. ⏳⌛️👀 . “As always, it is a great honor to be entrusted with visually representing these gorgeous, compelling, important pieces of writing.” 🙏🏼👩🏻‍💻🌱 . Swipe through to see each featured artwork in full, and be sure to tap the link in our bio to experience each piece. This is what we love most: seeing the pieces we publish continue to inspire other modes of expression and art, each wave building upon the last. 🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊

Excited to share my designs for the @YouAlwaysHaveOptions art contest. Unfortunately, I wasn't a finalist, but you can see those that were and cast your vote for the winner at @ShoutYourAbortion . Saying it again, for those in the back: Abortion is normal ● Abortion pills are safe ● Abortion care is basic healthcare and a human right ● Bodily autonomy for everyone ❤️ #shoutyourabortion #abortionishealthcare #youalwayshaveoptions
