Today’s #sunday_dreamlinerday is a throwback to February 2025, when @united sent this beautiful special livery to @frankfurtairport for only the second time — and somehow everything just came together perfectly. ✈️✨
Golden light, a flawless approach and one of the best-looking Dreamliners in the sky.
It’s honestly crazy to think about what happened since then:
more than 2,500 new followers, new friendships and — not least — a completely upgraded camera setup. 📸
Still one of my favorite catches to this day.

Absolutely unreal.

The closer you zoom in, the crazier it gets:
The Lufthansa hangars in the background look like liquid metal and even the runway environment starts melting away behind the aircraft. 🤝
119mm never looked this compressed.
And somehow the gold Etihad livery against that deep blue sky just hits different on hot summer days at FRA.

Four engines.
That insanely elegant wing.
And a silhouette that still makes modern twins look boring. 🤝
What makes this shot even crazier: the massive heat distortion at 672mm compressing the entire background into pure chaos behind the aircraft. The tower almost looks melted.
One of those aircraft you never realize you’ll miss this much… until they slowly disappear from the skies.

One of the biggest enemies in planespotting isn’t rain, fog or clouds.
It’s midday heat.
Harsh shadows under the fuselage, shimmering air above the runway and enough heat distortion to turn even a beautiful shot into a soft mess. And sadly, there’s no fixing that in Lightroom. 🤝
Still, I kinda like this one.
