Words cannot describe the impact that this past weekend had. The return of Vaughn Gittin Jr. to Formula Drift, the 20th year of the sport at the exact spot where it all began. He came in with a vengeance with a crazy pass during practice, qualifying number one, and winning the whole thing. Incredible.

There’s nothing like the energy of Round 1, and while I’m watching from the sidelines this year, my heart is right there on the grid with the crew.
To my friends and family heading out: soak up every second of that tire smoke and engine roar for me! I’ll be the loudest one cheering in the group chat and refreshing the live stream every five seconds.

This is a tough pill to swallow. Going from the high of hitting every single round to the possibility of a "zero-round" season is a massive shift, especially when the circumstances are out of your hands.
Last year, I lived out a dream I’d been chasing for a long time: capturing all 8 rounds of @formulad . Being trackside for every wall tap and lead change was an experience I’ll never forget.
Unfortunately, life has a way of throwing curveballs, and due to circumstances out of my control, it looks like I might be watching from the sidelines this season. It’s a hard reality to face when your heart is behind the lens, but I’m choosing to lead with gratitude for the miles I've already traveled.
To the drivers: Push harder than ever. Chase those podiums and leave it all on the pavement. To my media family: Get the shots, tell the stories, and get the recognition you work so tirelessly for. I’ll be cheering you all on from afar.
Don't take a single shutter click for granted! I can’t wait to see the fire you all produce. 🏆
