I recently took part in the Comprehensive Care and Treatment Quality Assurance Meeting organized by Caritas Nigeria for ART clinicians in Imo State.
As a clinician working closely with high-risk populations, this meeting wasn’t just a routine check-in—it was a much-needed space to reflect on the real challenges we face in the field, and to explore practical solutions that center the people we serve.
We reviewed and strengthened our approaches across key components of HIV care, including:
🔹 Advanced HIV Disease (AHD)
🔹 HIV Testing Services (HTS)
🔹 Enhanced Adherence Counselling (EAC)
🔹 Tuberculosis (TB)
🔹 Other Opportunistic Infections (OIs)
What stood out most for me was the openness to share field-level realities—missed appointments, complex psychosocial cases, data quality gaps—and to work together in turning those challenges into actionable solutions.
It was a chance to align, not just on targets and tools, but on what truly matters: delivering care that is consistent, compassionate, and client-centered.
Kudo to @caritasnigeria for championing quality and providing a platform where clinicians’ voices from the frontlines are heard, valued, and empowered.
This is how better care starts—with conversations, collaboration, and a shared commitment to do more and do better.
