Sutra | সূত্র A mother’s grace isn’t found in a single day, but in the quiet way she holds a home together. She is the invisible thread in every story we tell, much like the weave of a saree that grows softer and more familiar with every passing year. Her role isn’t just to guide, but to be the steady anchor we return to when the world feels too loud. From the tuck of her pallu to the strength in her hands, she turns the ordinary into something sacred without ever asking for credit. To the mothers who are our first stylists, our constant anchors, and our forever inspirations, today we celebrate the poetry in your presence. You are the original Charulataa—the "graceful vine" that keeps our family tree blooming. Stri-Parva: Unmute the Questions, a performance art composition by the Panjeri Artists’ Union, explores the unresolved aftermath of conflict through the lens of the Stri-Parva from the Mahabharata. The work inhabits the moment when women—mothers, wives, and daughters—enter the battlefield to mourn, situating itself in a post-war landscape where institutional justice has collapsed and moral certainty has dissolved. Moving beyond narration, the performance foregrounds the voice of Gandhari to challenge notions of justice shaped by patriarchal authority. It highlights the perspectives of those who bear the consequences of war without agency, transforming collective grief into a powerful act of questioning. By centering the human experience of the silenced, the work becomes a visceral utterance of doubt and resistance, demanding articulation for questions that remain unheard. 📍Coir Godown, Aspinwall House. #KochiMuzirisBiennale #KochiBiennaleFoundation #ForTheTimeBeing #NikhilChopra #KMB2025

Images from yesterday's performance Unmute by Panjeri Artists' Union led by Saptak Mistri and Subhankar Gain at Coir Godown, Aspinwall House. Unmute inquires into silencing, voice, and identity - understood as unstable, relational, and shaped by history and power. Through rap, poetry, and movement, it performs articulation as a contested practice, refusing the gesture of giving voice and instead exposing how audibility and recognition are structured by power. #KochiMuzirisBiennale #KochiBiennaleFoundation #ForTheTimeBeing #NikhilChopra #KMB2025
