A little girl walks alone…

Her small back carries a worn-out bag that has seen too many places.
But the heaviest thing she carries is not inside the bag… it’s inside her mind.
She walks slowly through the bad area streets, eyes low, heart loud.
While other children laugh freely, she is thinking too much for her age.
“What if life never gets better?”
“What if this is all there is for me?”
But she doesn’t say it out loud.
In her world, feelings are something you swallow… not express.

Every silence around her feels like it is watching her grow.
People see a small girl passing by…
