March was International Women’s Month and I was honored as an Author and had the pleasure of attending @salemlions_ HERStory event. A powerful event with other women and young girls who got a chance to hear from us on our journey of writing. Let me just say, God made sure I was in this room. When I first was contacted about being apart of this, I kept saying it was so random because the person who reached out is someone I met working a fashion show 3-4 years ago. I don’t even know if she remembers meeting me there but long story short she asked me to be apart of this event that her friend was putting together and I quickly said YES. If you know me, you know that speaking is what I would love to be doing each and everyday so with this being my first engagement I was so excited! It was a beautiful day and I was so grateful for the opportunity to share a bit of my story with these beautiful middle schoolers. I pray that I was able to connect and touch at least one person. My journey has been long, tough, and unbelievable. I cried as soon as I watched this video that my sister @shotbysheka put together for me. When I got booked for this event I immediately booked her to come to ATL to film me. I’m so glad I did! I’ll never forget this day of inspiration, love, & beautiful people.
