Фильм «Мы—вода» режиссера Хорхе Мальпика, мировая премьера которого состоялась на нашем показе в марте, растрогал сердца зрителей в зале и мы решили отправить статуэтку автору в Мексику! My experimental short film “i have to talk to her” has been accepted into a film festival! 🎬 Every project starts as an idea that lives in an isolated echo chamber of my taste until I release it into the public. That time between creation and release is so vulnerable because I just don’t know if my taste, which has been guiding the project, is actually interesting or just a world that nobody else will understand or care about. I have been in this space with my @raybanmeta movie “i have to talk to her” that I made in @la_napoule_artfoundation since I came back a few months ago. However, I’m excited to announce that just this last week I found out that my little short film has been officially accepted into @shortshotfest in Moscow! From here, who knows what happens, but the most important thing is that this silly idea I had months ago has found at least one audience, and for that I’m beyond grateful. With this small yet significant gust of creative wind, I live to create again.

А вот и шорт-лист марта! В прошлом месяце к нам поступило 177 фильмов из 45 стран, и это, честно, очень вдохновляет. Каждый месяц мы искренне радуемся тому, сколько сильных, крутых и талантливых работ присылают на Short Shot Fest. Среди заявок были фильмы из США, Польши, Колумбии, Китая, Японии, Пакистана, Индии, Мексики, Египта, Южной Африки, Малайзии и, конечно, России. Фильмов было так много и столько действительно классных, что выбор оказался очень непростым. Но в итоговый шорт-лист марта вошли лишь чуть больше 30 работ. Показ пройдет летом и дату объявим уже совсем скоро. А пока ждем ваши фильмы по ссылке в шапке профиля👆 … Here is the March short list! Last month, we received 177 films from 45 countries, which is genuinely inspiring. Each month, we are truly delighted to see how many bold, accomplished, and highly talented works are submitted to Short Shot Fest. Among the entries were films from the United States, Poland, Colombia, China, Japan, Pakistan, India, Mexico, Egypt, South Africa, Malaysia, and, of course, Russia. The selection process was far from easy: there were so many submissions, and so many of them were genuinely outstanding. In the end, just over 30 films made it into the final March short list. The screening will take place this summer, and we will be announcing the date very soon. In the meantime, we invite you to submit your films by clicking link in bio👆

After each screening, we always ask the audience to vote for the film they liked the most. It so happened that at the screening held on March 21, the audience chose not one film, but two. The first film “Lakomka”, directed by Antonina Kosareva. But the Mexican film “We Are Water”, directed by Jorge Malpica, received exactly the same number of audience votes as “Lakomka”. So we made an additional award and are sending it to Mexico. We’ll be very happy to see our statuette all the way in distant Mexico. ••• После показа мы всегда просим зрителей проголосовать за фильм, который им больше всего понравился. Так получилось, что на показе, который прошел 21 марта зрители выбрали не один фильм, а два. Первый фильм «Лакомка» режиссера Антонины Косаревой. А вот фильм из Мексики «Мы — вода» режиссера Хорхе Мальпика получил точно такое же количество голосов зрителей, как и «Лакомка». Поэтому мы изготовили дополнительный приз и высылаем в Мексику. Будем рады увидеть нашу статуэтку в далекой Мексике.

What matters is not your age, or whether you have any experience working in film. If you truly want to make a movie, there are literally no barriers. We’re sharing the story behind the making of Leading Role, produced by Ksenia Medvedeva and directed by Eleonora Yudina. The film was shot at Mayakovskaya, one of the most beautiful stations in the Moscow Metro.

A little about our logo. On June 2, 2020, the name Short Shot Fest was created. The word shot can mean both a film shot and a gunshot. The whole idea of the festival is that, with our “short shot,” we pierce a symbol of the mainstream — a bucket of popcorn. In the photo, you can see the first hand-drawn logo sketches, as well as the final version. Our first screening took place on August 23, 2020. But that’s another story. ••• Немного о нашем логотипе. 2 июня 2020 года было придумано название “Short Shot Fest». Shot переводится как кадр и как выстрел. Идея всего фестиваля заключается в том, что мы своим «коротким выстрелом» пронзаем символ мейнстрима - ведерко с попкорном. На фото первые наброски логотипа от руки. И финальная версия. А первый показ прошел 23 августа 2020 года. Но это уже другая история…
