A look at the gold emboss detail on Sobek’s first and second printings. Sobek was the first book I did with gold emboss and I wasn’t really happy with how the first printing came out; as you can see the gold sits on top in globs, with all the details of the art obscured. With the second (current) printing, the details were incorporated into the gold and it looks part of the cover and so much better.
