Silver State 300 race recap:
Started the race physically first in class (double edge sword)- passed a couple 10 cars, then the front start position ended up working against us. We got a flat early around race mile 20. I botched the wheel change and lost several minutes while all class cars and some slower cars got around us. Had to fight blinding dust and exercise caution with a rock riddled course, as we used the single spare tire early - we did regain several positions. Took on fuel and got a tire re-rack 85 miles after the first flat.
Astrid nailed her calls and we turned our fastest time on lap 2 with a super clean run, just dodging other cars and big rocks. Fought through a setting sun and intense dust through lap 3 where we did find ourselves changing another flat, but made quick work of this change, with about 25 rough miles to go, so we took it easy and made sure to get to the finish.

Many takeaways from the @themint400 . When we were challenged, we didn’t quit. In a race known for high failure rates, we accepted help and pushed ourselves physically and mentally. Over 12 hours in any vehicle in any conditions can be taxing. Thank you @stridgil for the motivation and willingness to keep going. Lap 3 turned into a race against the clock to be allowed to start lap 4. Lap 4 turned into survival just to finish - on borrowed parts and spare parts that don’t fit properly…. But we did it, and kept ourselves in the points championship. We are sitting tied for 2nd and only -1 point down from 1st. Still have 3 races to go for the @americanoffroadchampionship !!!! Thank you to everyone that makes it possible!

Matt, Jake, Jared, Derek, Buddy, Jaden- you guys crushed it. Good to see @snowmexican_1 to finish out our 3 hour pit stop.

We were hoping to follow @theparker400 victory with another strong finish… a broken axle that then took out the bearings, hub and rotor about 8 miles from a remote pit hindered our effort. After 3 hours, some borrowed parts, duct tape and an Angel 😇 named Frank, we got rolling to the pit where we were able to make the repairs get us to the end!!! Official @themint400 finishers!! Took 12 hours and once again did not have normal brakes, but the correct pedal is the one on the right anyway.
Officially 1300 race miles on our @bfgoodrichtires and no flats!

The first time I was fortunate enough to co-dog was the 2011 Mint 400, in championship winning 1-2, 1600 car. A great experience that laid the groundwork for this 2026 adventure.
