It’s been a whirlwind two weeks across @oh_kinasai , @yiff_jp , and finally @jeonju_iff .
“Purehearted” was screened in both Okinawa and Jeonju, and every screening sold out. It was moving to see how the protagonist’s journey as an ordinary woman pursuing her dream with unwavering determination, together with this universal story of family, resonated strongly with audiences in Korea. The Q&A sessions were incredibly lively and memorable. Thank you for the wonderful opportunity, Molly Kim!
One of the biggest highlights was my Best Actor nomination for “LONE SAMURAI”. Deeply grateful to the directors @wallerjoshc , producers, and the dedicated cast and crew who supported me. I will continue to refine my craft.
沖縄国際文化祭、横浜国際映画祭、全州国際映画祭と怒涛の2週間でした。沖縄と全州での『風のマジム』の上映は全て完売。平凡に生きてきたマジムがひたむきに夢を追う姿、そして普遍的な家族の物語が韓国の観客の心にも届いてくれたようで、Q&Aもとても盛り上がりました。
個人的なハイライトは『LONE SAMURAI』が横浜で優秀男優賞をいただいたこと。海外での受賞やノミネートはありましたが、日本では初めてのことだったので喜びも格別でした。僕を信じ、役を託してくれたJosh監督、そして献身的に支えてくれたスタッフとキャストに心から感謝します。これからも愚直に己の表現を磨き続けていきたいと思います。

The 3rd edition of @cinema_at_sea Okinawa Pan-Pacific International Film Festival has come to an end. Thank you so much to everyone who came out and supported us. Personally, it meant a great deal to me to present LONE SAMURAI as its Asian Premiere and share it with audiences here in Okinawa.
The talk event for “Katsumi Sunamori Photo Exhibition” was also incredibly special. Photographer Jean Matsumoto, who knew Katsumi san well, joined us, and we were even surprised by a special appearance from Governor of Okinawa @dennytamaki . The enthusiasm went far beyond what we had imagined. It felt as though something new was quietly beginning to take shape.
Next year, the Competition and Industry sections will be back. We hope many of you will join us.
第３回 Cinema at Sea - 沖縄環太平洋国際映画祭 が無事に閉幕いたしました。ご来場いただいた皆様に心より感謝を申し上げます。個人的には『LONE SAMURAI』をアジアプレミアとして沖縄の皆様にいち早くお届けすることができてとても嬉しかったです。 関連イベントとして開催された『砂守勝巳 写真展 - 黙示の町 OKINAWA』のトークショーは、生前の勝巳さんを深く知る写真家 ジャン松元さん、さらに玉城デニー沖縄県知事も飛び入り参加。想像以上の熱気に包まれ、新しい何かが動き出す気配を感じた夜になりました。 来年は本祭の年でコンペティションとインダストリーもありますので、皆様奮ってご参加ください。 今後とも『Cinema at Sea』をどうぞ宜しくお願いいたします。
いよいよ2月20日から開催される @cinema_at_sea 沖縄環太平洋国際映画祭にて、主演を務めたアメリカ映画『LONE SAMURAI』が上映されます。『ザ・レイド』シリーズで世界的に注目を集めたイコ・ウワイスをプロデューサーの一人に迎え、彼の Uwais Team がアクションコーディネートを担当。さらに、インドネシアを代表するアクション俳優ヤヤン・ルヒアン、日本からは @sumire_ashina さんも参加しています。
現段階では日本での公開や配信の予定はありませんので、ぜひ沖縄の皆さんにビッグスクリーンで体感していただきたいです。チケットはプロフィールのリンクからお求めいただけます。
LONE SAMURAI will have its Asian Premiere at @cinema_at_sea Okinawa Pan-Pacific International Film Festival starting February 20.
The film brings on board The Raid star @iko.uwais as one of the producers, with his @uwais.team handling the action choreography. It also features acclaimed Indonesian action star @yayanruhian . There are currently no plans for a Japan release or streaming, so I truly hope audiences in Okinawa will experience it on the big screen.

昨年は、13年ぶりの舞台『革命の家』に始まり、アンバサダーを務める『Cinema at Sea - 沖縄環太平洋国際映画祭』第2回目の開催、さらに映画『木の上の軍隊』『風のマジム』『宝島』の沖縄映画公開ラッシュからの、舞台『対馬丸ものがたり』と、戦後80年という節目も重なり、沖縄に深く関わる作品に多く携わらせていただいた一年でした。後半には日本・イタリア・カナダ合作映画『Blue is the Color of the Sun』にプロデューサーとして参加し、多くのご縁に恵まれながら、非常にクリエイティブな時間を過ごすことができたことに心から感謝しています。
2026年は、ロッテルダム国際映画祭での『LONE SAMURAI』プレミアを皮切りに、2月20日からは新たな形に進化した『Cinema at Sea』も開催されます。今年はさらに新しい挑戦を重ねていきたいと思っていますので、「一緒に面白いことをやろう」と思ってくださる方は、ぜひ気軽にご連絡ください。
