Today marks one year since my father and sister’s kidney transplants 💚
So grateful for this recap of my recent solo at the @faenaart Project Room. Sharing this work with you all was incredibly special.
These plants are now thriving—in my family’s garden and at my studio @thecollective62 🌿
Huge thank you to @pinatapink for collaborating with me on this deeply personal, introspective show.
And thank you to everyone who came to see The Gator in the Pool, and to @faena for giving me the space to share this work.
THERE’S A GATOR IN THE POOL
—ALEX NUÑEZ
The exhibition is now open every weekend—come get lost in its waves. What’s on view is only half the story; the other half happened behind the scenes, in the joyful mess of making: moving pieces, chasing light, fine-tuning details, and laughing through late nights. At Faena Art, we believe the process is part of the piece—every gesture, every decision, every collaboration leaves its trace. So stop by, feel it all, and let the weekend carry you somewhere unexpected.

THERE’S A GATOR IN THE POOL
—ALEX NUÑEZ
This summer, something’s stirring below the surface. Step into a space where walls breathe, light bends, and color pulls you under. Every weekend, Faena Art opens the door to an immersive world where art doesn’t just hang—it surrounds, shifts, and sways with you. What you see here is just the making of it. The real experience begins when you arrive. Come feel the current. Weekends only. All summer long.

The vibrant and colorful works of Alex Nunez currently on view for our group exhibition ‘Paletas’ until April 24th at HaHaus Studio!
Alex Nuñez lives and works in Miami, Florida. Nuñez received her MFA from Hunter College, City University of New York (2012). Her mixed-media immersive practice models tropical dystopian landscapes with acrylic, pastel, glitter, crystals, and gold leaf. These textural works explore resilience and adaptation amidst environmental collapse.
