shop @erinteresa prints today at Shit Show Summer Fest! Heres a beautiful artist’s statement: I am a self taught photographer shooting 35mm film. My desire is to be constantly expanding my creative boundaries, tangible experiences, and to always be learning. I am always photographing people and events around NYC and am inspired by the energy of group expression, my passion is human connectivity. I am looking to explore all the ways in which people come together. The very human search to find happiness, comfort, solidarity, and connections through celebration, faith, community, and cultural identity. My aim is to capture the people, events and places that fill each of these wants and needs as well as the human responses to them. I find the reasons that people come together endlessly fascinating. Sometimes positive, at times confrontational, but always a common interest running through, connecting each person. I especially enjoy those where people are expressing themselves through dress, articulating their identity or fantasy identity. There is a transformation that takes place within and radiates out. I thrive on the creativity of people that revel in self expression, those that are brave and unique, truly individuals. As someone that is not always comfortable in my own skin I greatly admire people that own their identity in any capacity that makes them whole.
