In the early morning hours of Friday, December 12, our second daughter, Calico Levitt Sue Williams, burst into this world in what felt like just moments. Our hearts were already so full with Kitsu Joy. We were “one and done” — but I swear they grew two sizes bigger the first time we saw Cali. And now there’s no world where our little lady—cowgirl, calico cat, flowery sheriff Callie doesn’t exist. Her middle names “Levitt Sue” take their cue from each of our parents who weren’t here to meet her. I swear you carry the spirits of those who shaped us. Her beautiful soul already feels so distinct from Kitsu’s—who could not be more excited to be her big sister. The trail was already blazed. Now you get to ride it your own way.

After a few days in the hospital, newly post-partum, we came home with a plan for our first meal—simple, salty, kind of spectacular. For me, there’s something profound that happens when I get to work directly with the people behind a brand—the creator of the product—the reason a new thing exists in the world. Over a series of interactions (usually building a stronger friendship) something gets unlocked, and suddenly the visual story starts revealing itself. I don’t always get it right. And honestly, there’s usually a short list of misses I used to let haunt me. Now I see them as part of the process. I knew I was going to love these images the moment I started playing with the test shots the night before. The goal was to create a hero image that spotlights the product while gently spoon-feeding the story behind the brand—creating a little world where the product could live. Jess and I pulled the right cookbooks from the right authors to create the right texture, color, and foundation—to help tell the right story. I’m genuinely honored any time I get to be one of the artists helping carry a brand’s vision forward. These images are Clean. Simple. Intentional. Just like the @seesalttaste brand.
