Spring is in full swing—and so is the work behind the scenes 🌱
As gardens come to life, we’re getting ready to provide fresh, healthy food to families across our community. From planting to harvesting, every step helps put nutritious meals on the table. 🫛🌶️
This season, SHIM is also excited to partner with Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens Master Gardeners to offer a beginning gardening class series for our food pantry clients and the South Hills community.
Knowing how to grow even a portion of your own food is a meaningful step toward self-sufficiency 💚
In our first class, participants learned the foundations of successful gardening, including:

🪴 Growing in containers or in-ground
🌱 Quality planting mediums
