Anamorphic optics and classic Leica R Summicron spherical lenses, offering a one-of-a-kind look with a modern twist.
The LOMOCRON Anamorphics maintain the iconic qualities of LOMO Square Fronts, including stunning lens flares, smooth, linear barrel distortion, and unique geometry that gives a nod to classic anamorphics while standing apart with their distinctive character. The 35mm and 50mm lenses are incredibly sharp at the center, even at wide apertures, with a smooth fall-off. Meanwhile, the 90mm lens has a slightly softer, dreamier aesthetic. With a T2.1 aperture, the set delivers excellent performance overall.
The mechanics are fully updated. Focus and iris movements are precise, consistent, and reliable, with matching gear positions across the lenses. The standard front diameters make them compatible with industry-standard accessories, eliminating the hassle of the old square fronts and making them filter- and diopter-friendly.
Notably, Whitepoint Optics has eliminated the image-shift issues that were common with original LOMO Square Front lenses, thanks to their expert mechanical design. These lenses now provide the feel and operation you would expect from modern cinema glass.
