MONTHLY SITE UPDATE: MAY 2026
May has seen continued progress across Sherford, with key infrastructure, drainage and sports facilities moving forward alongside preparations for Phase 3, with highlights including:
✅ Ongoing works to the Sherford Road Traffic Calming project, which remains on schedule
✅ Continued development of the cricket facilities ahead of temporary summer use in 2026 and full opening in 2027
✅ Swale improvement works progressing to support long-term drainage infrastructure
✅ Preparations underway for Phase 3 utility installations. Some road closures will be required to enable this work to take place safely, and these will be communicated in the coming weeks ✅ A major milestone will soon be reached as the first residents prepare to move into Phase 3

NEW SHERFORD YOUTH HANGOUT – LAUNCHES TODAY
Sherford Kids & Youth (SKY), a community-led initiative from Sherford Community Church, is launching a weekly Youth Hangout, shaped by local young people, for local young people.
Every Wednesday during term-time from 7–8pm, you’ll find us near the playpark & skate ramps. It’s a relaxed drop-in space with games, snacks, and a chance to hang out, and each week, you help decide what happens!
Our friendly volunteer team are all DBS-checked and committed to creating a safe, welcoming space for everyone.
First session kicks off TONIGHT at 7pm!

APRIL SITE UPDATE
A busy month at Sherford as major works begin on Sherford Road and progress continues across Phase 1, alongside spring improvements, including:
✅ Sherford Road: Traffic calming works started 13th April, bringing safer routes, new markings, a lit path & mini roundabout (14 weeks).
✅ Phase 1: Road improvements ongoing, with temporary traffic management on Hercules Road.
✅ Sports Hub: Floodlights repaired from 20th April.
✅ Play Area: Repairs complete, with new sensory equipment coming soon.
✅ Swales: Drainage improvements underway.
✅ Spring Clean :Site-wide tidy-up and sustainability-focused reuse of materials.
