I certainly don’t have the words yet, and I don’t know how to choose 20 pictures out of hundreds, but a week ago today, we lost our OG, the mama girl, the beauty queen, our Zoey girl. She was one of one, as I’m sure we all feel about our animals. She was three weeks shy of 14.
Zoey was a force. She was loyal. She was loving. She was a stage 5 clinger to the max. (I haven’t peed alone in years. LOL) She was the most loving mama to Zekey boy and Carl. In her prime, I’m not sure any other pup could out run her for a ball. She was fast as hell and I think would run herself to death if we let her. She was an incredible swimmer and obsessed with the water. She LOVED drinking water out of a fire hydrant….I should say CHOMPING water out of a fire hydrant. The sight of it made me belly laugh. She was the queen of cuddles and baths for Zeke. She was literally one half of a heart with him. They would make that shape in my lap anytime I got on the floor with them.
This trio of love with Zoey, Zeke and Carl, is probably the coolest thing I’ve ever known. These gentle giants, and this fluffball cat. So unique, and so pure. They all just fit, and I feel so lucky that I got to have the best view to watch their love thrive.
I’m so grateful I got to be her mama for 11 years. She taught me A LOT. Patience, grace, how to give less F’s. She was just amazing. I’m hoping she is chasing a ball on a big open grassy field somewhere, and hanging with my mom. I love the thought of that so much.
We miss you Zo girl. Most of all, Zekey. I promise I’ll cuddle him as hard and as often as you did. Rest easy and let that soul run free. @zoeyzekeandcarl@dezfrank

I think it’s so cool and really special when a mom shares a birthday with one of her kiddos…I mean of all the days in the year for your baby to be born…they are born on YOUR birthday?!?! Talk about the most incredible gift EVER! This is the case for my momma and my sis and it is their twin birthday today and I always say this but it is the absolute truth…they are without a doubt two of the strongest, most resilient women I know. I am so lucky to be on and have been on the journey with them! Happy heavenly, mom! We miss you all the time! And Happy Birthday Millie girl!
