A box wood & almost certainly Tudor, nit comb. This was a fabulous bucket list find on a perfect day. I will treasure & restore it the best I can. The Mudlarks are back, and the rooms of the wonderful Waterman’s Hall will be bursting at the seams with fascinating finds! ✨ Friday to Sunday, 27-29 March, from 10am - 4pm. 16-18 St Mary at Hill, London EC3R 8EF. During the exhibition, we have two special events taking place: Mudlark and trade token specialist @seanclarkmudlark will be leading walking tours through Central London, guided by 17th century trade tokens and visiting the historic sites where the traders once worked and lived. A warm sunny lark last week brought me this wonderful medieval brass spectacle buckle ☀️ Swipe for cleaning progress ➡️ Made from a mould that would have produced around only 50 buckles, you can see what appears to be a black tinning or lacquer coating which worked as both decoration & protection.
