With expected freezing temperatures over the next few days, ERCOT has issued a Weather Watch from Jan 20 - 23 due to forecasted extreme cold weather across ERCOT region, higher electrical demand, and the potential for lower reserves. Winter participation is also expected across parts of the state. Grid conditions are expected to be NORMAL during an ERCOT Weather Watch. ERCOT is encouraging everyone to sign up for grid condition notifications through the Texas Advisory and Notification System (TXANS). Texans can also monitor real-time and extended grid conditions at ercot.com. Should you experience an outage, please contact your local utility.

Ready for more energy-saving tips in the kitchen from @energy ? 💡✨ 1️⃣ Keep burners and reflectors clean—they’ll heat more efficiently. 2️⃣ Use small appliances (like a toaster oven) for small meals—they use less energy than the big oven. 3️⃣ Set fridge to 35°-38°F & freezer to 0°F to keep food fresh without wasting energy. 4️⃣ Test fridge seals with a dollar bill; if it slides out easily, you may need a new seal. 5️⃣ Defrost freezers regularly—frost buildup makes them work harder! These small steps can help keep your kitchen energy-efficient all year!

Trying to reduce your energy use in the kitchen? Start with these easy tips from @energy ! 🍲💡 1️⃣ Cover pots & pans while cooking to trap heat. 2️⃣ Use an electric kettle for hot water—it’s faster and saves energy. 3️⃣ Run the dishwasher only with a full load. 4️⃣ Minimize fridge openings to keep it from working overtime. 5️⃣ Set your faucet to “cold” for small amounts of water to avoid wasting hot water. Small changes can add up to energy savings! 🌍
