La sua attività di ricerca si concentra sul data design applicato alle questioni sociali.
Ha insegnato presso Unibz, Elisava, Unifi e Unirsm. Tra i riconoscimenti ricevuti figurano il Data Journalism Award (2015) e l’European Design Award (2016, 2017, 2025). È stato membro della giuria del World Press Photo Digital Storytelling Contest e, nel 2018, è stato nominato tra i 100 ambasciatori del design italiano nel
mondo.
