Wooooowweeeeee. I get teary eyed every year when I think about it. Because every year I’m reminded, after another year of ups and downs you REMAIN the ONE constant. Stayed down. Every time. I love you for that!!! To all those that have the luxury and privilege of having your mom here, honor those that no longer have their mom, by treating your love for your mom as an honor and privilege. Love you to the max mom. Love all of the women in my life that love me like a mom. Love to the mother of my child. Love to all of my grand, great grand and great great great great great mamas that have passed on. Happy Mama Day Mom!

Yo. I am beyond excited to share this with yall. I don’t know if excited is the right word… If you don’t know, I have a group of high school friends, I call them my brothers, that I have been down with for over 30 years. It’s one of those strange blessings that you don’t realize you have until other people point it out to you. Bree, KJ, Mike Jack, Black, Cory Mac, JT, Ben, RD, Obi, Putnam, Wayne (Weez)….we are all brothers…all talk regularly almost everyday to this day. When you are friends for that long, you watch each others kids be born, and you watch each others kids grow up. One of my best friends on planet earth is @t.toddsimon , I literally remember the night his oldest @maniistyledit was born. I’ve watched Mani grow from a little girl to a whole ass woman. Confident, intelligent; a fashion icon in the making and straight up no chaser…just like her mom and dad. So you can imagine my excitement when she hit me up about being on the @voicesofthemet podcast that she hosts. Easiest yes of my entire life. Yes, it was cool to talk about myself and my journey in relation to the city I’m from - but very rarely do you get to do that like THIS. With family. In seven years of operation and hundreds of applications, we have never seen a 'Yes' from a grant application until today. Everyone close to me knows that 2025 was one of the most challenging years of business. We went from our biggest year ever in 2024, to our worst year ever in 2025. For the first time in 7 years of operation, we grossed less than $100K...a 76% drop from 2024. For all of my business owners out there, you know exactly what my conversations have been like with the IRS, my team, our contractors, our partners. To say I am grateful is an understatement—I am in disbelief. As a Black creative in South Carolina, where opportunities for service-based businesses like ours can be rare, this isn't just a win for my company; it’s a win for every minority creative who has been told to keep pushing. 2025. Random. Part 3. Balance. Those two pic posts were true. But this is also true. 2025 was also one of the most challenging years of my life. More friends and family lost this year than ever. More friends and family with serious illness this year than ever. Least money I’ve made since I was 15. More money I’ve ever lost than any year on record. Worst company year than any year on record. And I am still grateful for it ALL. Life is what it is. There is good and there is bad, it’s all one and the same to me. And it’s all real. At the end of the day, the day gone end.
