Inversion” tells the story of an alternative history of the Gorgon Medusa, in which her curse, after being violated by the god Poseidon, who turned into a bird, becomes her protection. Over time, Medusa becomes more confident and resolute, leaving behind the suffering she endured, and wanting to live on. This idea inspired me to create the series after seeing Luciano Garbati’s sculpture ‘Medusa with the head of Perseus’, installed in New York opposite the courthouse where the trial against Harvey Weinstein took place. My conceptual inspiration comes from the shows and performances of designer Alexander McQueen. As well as Pina Bausch’s play “The Rite of Spring”. #fashioneditorial

ENG: One day, amidst the noise and interference on the TV screen, a human catches a signal from a distant planet called Ixant, which he has been seeking for a very long time. Seeing the beautiful Ksai — a young reporter with braids and pink skin — the human can’t resist her charms and decides to travel to her. There is a small problem: on the planet of Ixant, relationships with humans are strictly forbidden. Another alien, Serin-Ty, who is the co-host of the evening news, takes advantage of the desperate situation of the amorous Ksai, deciding to destroy her rival. 

RU: Однажды среди шума и помех на экране телевизора, человек ловит сигнал с далекой планеты Иксант, которую он ищет уже очень давно. Увидев прекрасную Ксай - молодую репортершу с косами и розовой кожей, - человек не может устоять перед ее чарами и решает отправиться к ней. Но есть небольшая проблема: на планете Иксант отношения с людьми строго запрещены. Другая инопланетянка, Серин-Ти, ведущая вечерних новостей, воспользовавшись безвыходным положением влюбленной Ксаи, решает уничтожить свою соперницу.

Every day of his life feels like Groundhog Day to him; he tries to please everyone and to be the right person in the eyes of his family and society, forgetting who he truly is. To society, he is just one of many, but in his fantasies, he sees himself entirely different: bold, extravagant, and unbound by societal norms. Yet even there, he is haunted by the image imposed by society. For this project, we transformed numerous items from various second hand shops in Tbilisi, creating costumes and a doll named «Valera», who represents the shadow of the main character.” rus:
