✨Hello, here’s a clip of my practice of “A Couple Minutes” by Olivia Dean. Also, I don’t normally post about this kind of stuff but I feel that this is something that all artists go through but really all humans and we don’t talk about it enough! Over the past week, I got to be around lovely music and I got to perform and be in the now with my voice. But with a specific performance in my mind I really beat myself up on making a mistake. I told myself all that practice for a mess up and really was over thinking that in my head putting this performance on such a pedestal that it disconnected me from the message, the story I wanted to tell, and the music. Don’t get me wrong I’m so thankful to have been a part of it…… Sooo I went off key, ahhhh off key that’s such a big thing in music. But you know what it wasn’t the end of the world and I’m still here. I feel as human beings everyone’s so afraid of making mistakes or being seen and I think that’s the beauty within life. That’s how we grow, learn, thrive, love, and be better individuals. Was I really happy I made that mistake? Not really but I’m still proud of myself for doing that big thing and I’m making younger me proud by doing the thing we love! All that to say, have more grace with yourself, life isn’t easy so you owe it to yourself to give yourself all the love.
