My EP Neptune is now out. You can find it on Bandcamp as well as streaming. It is somehow a deconstructivist release. Some of these tracks are quite old so in a way it is a look into the past, not being afraid to alter it. It is also a process of closing sonic chapters.
Interior Rooms carries on the journey initiated with Hearts (2017). The landscape has greatly changed since these first steps but the road remains the same. It is a road of musical honesty.
Aino (Ain°) means only / unique. I caught up that name in a book and it felt good. It is a sonic journal and it is different in many ways from I what I do daily. Yet not necessarily in ways that can be heard in the music. It is a canvas for truths, which after being expressed, usually become part of my musical ecosystem.
In a sense Ain° is an explorer, a pathfinder. Interestingly enough the project is not using any time measuring tools, grids or sequencing whatsoever...
Hearts was raw and « confused ». One gets a sense of that reading the release’s text and (while falling slightly into questionnable pathos) it feels right as a testimony of that mindset. Hearts also timidly touched on a serenity previously unknown to me.
Interior Rooms is much more deliberate. Within that composed context, emotions have been able to flow more freely, facing less obstacles. Harmonic decisions were empowered by a gain in calm and distance. It also allow me to open up windows for spontaneity and improvisation.
It all feels like a new page, a possibility.
