🕊️ REMIX — “No one gets it. No one knows because it’s all his name.” This creator just gave us the background on Dolores Huerta that everyone needs to hear. 🙏 “She’s 96. She had two children born out of rape by him. She says nothing. She’s like — the movement is more important. The cause is more important. And for 60 years she never tells anyone. Dolores Huerta. You should know of her. It’s a big deal.” — @words_of_women ✅ Dolores Huerta was a teacher — she saw her students coming in starving, their parents all farmworkers with no rights ✅ She quit her job that day and dedicated 60 years of her life to creating the labor union for farmworkers ✅ She co-founded the movement alongside Cesar Chavez — but it was always his name that got the credit ✅ When they won a major bill in Congress, they tricked her — sent her to Florida claiming something was happening there. Nothing was. They just wanted all the credit. ✅ She was raped in a field twice by Chavez — had two children as a result — and said nothing ✅ Because she believed the movement was more important ✅ She has 13 children total — and carried this secret alone for 60 years ✅ Now at 96 — with a New York Times investigation underway — she finally said it ✅ Her words: “The way men look at women — it’s an illness.” Dolores Huerta. Now you know. 🕊️ Share this everywhere. 🔁 📌 Credit: @words_of_women 🔁 Share this with someone who needs to hear her story. ⚖️ Fair Use: This content is shared for educational, informational, commentary, awareness, response, and reaction purposes only. Teaching music lessons has been rewarding in so many ways, but one of the best perks of the job (outside of petting everyone's dog or cat), is my growing art collection. Welcome to SMOMA (Shay's Museum of Modern Art) #contemporaryart #gallery #musician #stilllife #fridgeart

Losing control? Feeling off kilter? Want to drive into the sunset and off a cliff? May I suggest: Bangs, the all-in-one cure for seasonal depression and the realization that we are in a dystopian nightmare. Curtain, micro, feminist, Bettie Page, blunt, side-swept...all are welcome. Just grab your scissors, and hack your way to freedom. #bangs #hair #snipsnip #shag

Random December photo dump. Goodbye 2025. You were... something. Here's to twinkling lights, hand-made wreaths, coffee, gluten free pies (savory and sweet), and cars sent to the scrap yard. #December #Christmas #random #loveyou #ᴘʜᴏᴛᴏᴅᴜᴍᴘ

I visited the Capitol right after 9/11. When I was in Middle School, I was lucky enough to go on a trip to D.C., and I am forever grateful for that week. I remember being afraid to fly. Afraid to go somewhere that was recently touched by violence. The first thing we saw when we landed was a hole blown into the side of the the Pentagon. We went everywhere you could imagine. Historical cities, memorials, Ford's Theatre where Lincoln was assassinated, Gettysburg, The Whitehouse... the list goes on. One of my favorite parts was when we visited the Capitol. I had only ever seen it on CSPAN, and I was in awe. The ceiling, the height, the sound as people clicked through the halls. A living breathing ode to our democracy; people from all over the US coming together because we voted for them to represent us. I was 12, poor, a country bumpkin, and it was inspiring. We all talked quietly in the halls, we all showed respect to the people working. When January 6th happened, and it unfolded live for everyone to see... I cried. I cried for the trust I saw being broken at heart of our nation. A president calling for Americans to ignore the peaceful transfer of power, to deny a fair election. They called for the death of VP Mike Pence, they brought gallows, broke windows, and they hurt people. A police officer died, an insurrectionist was shot, they pissed and defecated openly, and they threatened to find and kill members of the elected. Then they were pardoned. Do not forget the truth of January 6th. We watched it unfold, we saw the live stream of chaos and violence. It wasn't because of an unfair election, it was because of a dangerous leader who undermines our constitution. The Capitol will always be a place of common goals and compromise, if we have the guts to defend it and our nation. #january6th #trumplies #insurrection #thecapitol #america

My grandmother's, my mother's, and now mine. I love these hand-blown tree toppers. Also, I am very proud of my little tree. It needs more ornaments. The ceramic tree on the bottom left I made in Girl Scouts, and they told me I wasn't allowed to paint half the tree red. I told them it was on fire...they let me paint it red. #ornament #sentimental #christmastree #handblownglass #memories
