Happy Children's Day! ππ½π "...the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to such as these"
Children have been one of the greatest sources of my inspiration throughout my creative journey. My entire final year show (2011) was conceptualised around the "prospect of youth" and I firmly believe that we can learn and achieve so much if we step back from our limiting beliefs and aim to see life through the eyes of a child. Children deserve to be seen, heard and amplified, in all ways, ALWAYS! π«Άπ½β¨οΈ

Cover 9 from my #JAProverbsToProse design series where I reimagine Jamaican proverbs as book titles ππ½ββοΈπ
Trying my best to diversify the design styles and book genres as much as I can but I'm starting to feel a bit drained creatively... May have to give this series a break soon π How would you interpret this title? Feel free to share your thoughts the comments π βοΈπ½

A few years ago I was commissioned to redesign the logo for a local skincare brand. After careful deliberation they decided to relaunch with a different name but kept the original icon that I designed (yay!) They are now open for business with a beautiful new space & an exciting list of new services. Go check out them out - @revioraja β¨οΈ

The main inspiration for the final icon design was drawn from the Adinkra* symbol, "Asase Ye Duru". I felt this iconographic reference was fitting for the brand since it speaks to the importance of the earth and sustaining life.
* "Adinkra are visual symbols that represent concepts, proverbs, and aphorisms. They originated from the Akans of Ghana in the 1700s or before. Back then, they featured as prints on cloth which royals wore to important ceremonies. But they have transcended these Akan origins. They now grace logos, clothing, furniture, architecture, and more. These new usages embody a global recognition of their profound cultural significance.β

Reflective & Resonant - that's how I'd describe @protoje 's new album: "The Art of Acceptance"
Soo grateful we got the opportunity to experience this artistry at Carib - big screen + surround sound + creative community ππ½ππ½ππ½β¨οΈ Incredible execution of vision & visuals by the whole team!Β
Look out for the full album release tomorrow. You're definitely going to want to take some time to sit with this one.

Ok I know this doesn't exactly qualify as prose but when I chose this title, I envisioned it on something that everyone could (theoretically) resonate with personally. So a guided journal just made sense, right? π This design took me a while because I knew I wanted it to look regal with ornate details. What do you think? Yesterday I shared some hand-lettering that I did in 2019 and mentioned that the designs were done in preparation for an installation. Well these are some pics of the final Worship art installation being done at @newgenerationcamp , 7 years ago.
I had lots of help with the final painting from some lovely volunteers β‘ I'm really happy with how this project turned out and blessed to have been part of it.
Happy Resurrection Sunday ππ½β¨οΈ I did these lettering pieces 7 years ago in preparation for a Worship art installation at @newgenerationcamp (go check out their page).
I hope this Easter has been a time of reflection and renewal for you lovelies π
Hope your Easter has been blessed ππ½π
Do you know why we eat bun & cheese in π―π² during Easter? #FunFact β’ Hot cross buns were brought by the British and distributed on Good Friday in the 1600s. The cross on those buns symbolised the crucifixion. Of course, we had to put a spin on it w/ spiced bun and added cheese π
