@shatteredmindmachine aus Winterthur in der Schweiz hat mit „Achilles Heel“ ein neues Album raus, in fünf Tagen spielten sie die neun Songs ein. Sie haben längst einen eigenen Trademark-Sound entwickelt, es ist ein mitreißender, enorm dichter, alles umschließender Klangstrom, man landet da bei ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT WIPERS, FUCKED UP. @shatteredmindmachine - Achilles Heel (New Album 2025) /album/achilles-heel It was a weird condition, in which the fourth album by The Shattered Mind Machine was written. The prolific DIY-label AuGeil being coffined, the band was again alone in their moldy cellar in Winterthur. Here new songs were forged in spring 2024, and yes, it couldn’t be described in a better way. Songs were tried out, turned around, sometimes barely anything of the first ideas was left. The basis of negotiations: no comprehensive sweepstakes anymore, but rather pointed observations. Paying homage to all those who maintain a “silent protest”, to all those alienated “nonsense fighters” trapped in their “loopholes”. This change is also evident in the artwork: away from the urbanity of the last albums, back to the origin. It is rugged, has endured, is unaffected by trends, but also fragile. Aesthetically, the record is oriented on early punk pioneers like Wipers, but also keeps the mix of garage-psych and post-punk the band is known for. For the band's tenth anniversary, The Shattered Mind Machine are giving themselves a present. The value of this group no longer lies in numbers, views or similar silly industry comparisons. Four albums and three EPs: a vision has been created, pursued and implemented carefully over the last decade. Thus, “ACHILLES HEEL” is also a gift to everyone who appreciates this process. The album will be released on 25.04.2025 on vinyl via Swiss label Monobuster Records and will be promoted by Noisolution from Berlin. #theshatteredmindmachine #heavyrock #doommetal #psychedelicrock
