Happy Equinox you lovely, freaky critters
Here are some snippets of the creations Iām offering to yāall in this shifting season. Some hide work, some (machine washable) painting on fabric experimentation, some adornments, some available handpoke designsā¦.
Moooost everything is sliding scale.

This morning I went for a very very sweet and very very wet walk in the woods with the sweetest seed-starting-genius-grandmother to look for the ginseng she had planted several years ago. We didnāt find it. But we did find all the trilliums and Dutchmanās britches and may flowers.
Iāve had this song stuck in my ears all afternoon š
I have a couple sheepskins and leather crafts available for yall and will be accepting tattooing requests end of May. If you wanna check out hide work or be updated about tattoo requests, follow the bobolink (the bio link, the link in my bio).
Ear!! Thank you endlessly for your trust, raucous pop songs, and bubbly, witty banter.
Time for tiptoeing to avoid stepping on ephemerals and for tending our many seeds (mine are primarily metaphorical seeds this yearā¦but still).
Iāll be taking requests for tattooing for June and July soooon (requests will be open May 22nd-29th) and if ya wanna be reminded of those dates directly, you should give me your email or something (website in bio).

So so sweet to reconnect with old friends (both the human critter and the birds returning)
Smoking sheep hides⦠an oversimplified explanation of whatās happening here:
Natural tanning relies on treating the hide with tannins and fats. Whereas commercial āchemā or āvegā tanning strips and replaces the natural oils and proteins in the hide and replaces them with aldehydes.
There are many different methods for naturally treating hides with tannins and fats, one method is smoking them. Before smoking, these hides were frost scraped, dried, treated with egg and oil, and softened. The tannins from the smoke bind with the fats and proteins in the hide.
If you had gotten these hides wet before smoking, they would have dried as stiff rawhide. Now that they have been smoked, they can be exposed to moisture and still be soft and supple when dried.
Birds humming their songs
ones I promise Iāll never
forget.
Feeling pretty impossible to not be wrapped in the cycles of death and rebirth right nowā¦
A songbird and itās skeleton for the sweetest critter.
Design is from my non-repeating flash, if you wanna see future flash designs and such go join my email list.
Love you š
I got to design with the most lovely, creative soul. Sheās an animator and creative director who more recently works for a small company whoās developing AI.
I was nervous. Nervous that I would be treated like AI. Nervous that my slow, messy, human process wouldnāt be valued or trusted.
I felt like I needed to be so so messy and chaotic with the first draft I sent, to show that Iām human. Even, perhaps, to scare her off if she wasnāt up for mucking around with the imperfection of human art.
Thank you for fielding those first hideous sketches I sent and for seeing and trusting the vision all the way through.
So so much love to you in your new chapter š¤š¤
ā
I saw you
and the way youāre hunching over
your work
like a puzzle, and I think even if I
fail at everything,
I still want to point out the heron
like I was taught,
still want to slow the car down to
see the thing
that makes it all better, the invisible gift,
what we see when we stare long enough
into nothing.

Great blue heron (mostlyyyy healed with a few little finishing touches). For the sweetest @redclover.gwendolyne , thanks for reading me ooey gooey snail lore as we worked š¤

Creatures romping through the forests in search of their new home.
What will it take for us to slow the fuck down? To listen deeply to our neighbors our communities our loved ones our lands our own bodies. May these serve as reminders to pause and to be enchanted.
::::::::::NOTES ON FLASH::::::::::
šIām now offering āflashā designs as either ārepeatableā or ānon-repeatingā. These ānon-repeatingā designs will only be tattooed on one person.
šIf these critters are calling to you, fill out my design request form (linked in bio). My form will be open March 20-27th, and then Iāll be getting back to folks about accepted requests shortly after.
šThese non-repeating designs will only be available during this coming request window (March 20-27).
If youāre feeling kinda āfuck social mediaā these days and would like direct updates on my handpoking and hide work offerings, go join my email list (website linked in bio).
Thanks for being
For a while now Iāve been craving a more cyclical nature to my creative practices. Shifting with the seasons and allowing me to hold more focused time for deeper creativity.
Hereās how Iām restructuring my tattooing to (hopefully) reflect this:
šŖ±Design request windows (first one on the Spring Equinox, March 20)
I will have short windows where my design request form is open, and will schedule accepted requests for the following month or two.
Design request windows will be for both flash and custom. Custom requests I accept will be scheduled after designing is done and weāre both ready.
šŖ±Non-repeating flash
I will have a limited amount of repeatable flash and the rest will be non-repeating (only ever tattooed on one person).
šŖ±Non-repeating flash ONLY for the following request window
For a long time Iāve wanted to offer non-repeating flash, but didnāt like that it felt first-come-first-servedā¦
Restructuring how Iām accepting request will make it so that Iām dosing the projects Iām most excited about rather than just whoever is scrolling enough to claim flash first.
And itāll push me to draw more of what I want to draw and get to tattoo that when Iām actively excited about it rather than than stuff from ages ago :)
Thanks for being here and trying something new with me š¤
