Big news! Sharp Airlines has launched a new direct flight between Launceston and King Island! 🛩️
From 1 May 2026, you will be able to book a direct flight between Launceston and King Island, which will operate every Tuesday and Thursday.
That means just 55 minutes in the air, rather than diverting via Burnie (Wynyard), which makes travel between King Island and Northern Tasmania faster, easier and more convenient than ever.
For locals, it’s easier access to Launceston for appointments, shopping and services.
For visitors, it opens the door to an even easier island escape.
And for local business and producers, it’s another positive step forward for connection and opportunity.
This is the first ever direct air link between Launceston and King Island and we’re proud to be making it happen 💙
